刀ギャラリー「義の心」に展示される「大小 銘 天田昭次作」は、人間国宝刀匠・天田昭次氏が平成25年（2013年）秋に鍛え上げた珠玉の名作です。

生涯をかけて日本刀本来の鉄の美を追求した天田氏。

その清澄な地肌と気品あふれる佇まいは、現代刀剣鍛刀の最高峰と称されるにふさわしく、晩年に遺した貴重な遺作でもあります。

この名刀一対の由来を紐解くと、その背景には、東日本大震災後に日本と台湾の深い絆によって紡がれた、「義」の物語があります。

水のように澄みきった地肌、秋の夜空に浮かぶ雲を想わせる美しい刃文。
